Because this morning’s post was such a downer

6 May

BigHugs practices the fine art of kid joke telling

BigHugs:  Knock, knock.

Me:  Who’s there?

BigHugs:  BigHugs.

Me:  BigHugs who?

BigHugs:  BigHugs.

Duh, Mom.

BigHugs new parting greeting

BigHugs:  Bye, bye alligator!

Close enough.

My kids copied this one from somewhere on TV:

    Knock, Knock
    Who’s there?
    Ivan
    Ivan, who?
    Ivan working on the railroad!

They roar with laughter each time. It’s still better than the old stand-by:
    Who’s there?
    Silly-poopy!
    Silly-poopy who?
    Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Ah, sense of humor at a young age. Priceless. (and annoying)

Chuck’s grandma used to tell them this one when they were little:

    Knock, knock.
    Who’s there?
    Ma-dame.
    Ma-dame who?
Ma-dame foot’s stuck in the door!

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend teaching it to your own children.

I have such a bad memory for jokes. Dang it.

Cheryl, that’s totally from SuperWhy and my kids say it all the time. Always followed by, “Now that’s funny and not at all scary.” Laugh Hysterically Now.

And the all time favorite at our house:
    Knock Knock
    Who’s there?
    Boo
    Boo Who?
You don’t have to cry about it.

Wow, I’ve got to remember that knock knock, bythelbs. Stanton will love that one.
