Signs of summer

28 Jun

Tucking Goose into bed last night.

Me: Cheer camp’s tomorrow—you’re going to have to get up a little earlier.

Goose: What time is cheer camp?

Me:  Nine o’clock.

Goose:  Nine o’clock in the morning?!

Nine is the new six.

That’s practically the middle of the night!

I’ve lost my mind. The dentist said that they could get all 5 in tomorrow morning at 8 and I said yes. It’s a 45-minute drive there. Then in the afternoon, checkups for 3 and then 2 more on Wednesday morning (I think that one is 8:30, but it’s 10 minutes away). But, everyone needs a tuneup before vacation in 2 weeks, so I took first available.

I wish 9 was the new 6 here. Although, I guess technically, they are sleeping in. Getting up at 7:15 is better than 6:30. A little.

I love that! Sounds like my husband. Sigh.

    Mad—Apparently.

Evita—No argument from me. Cu-ckoo. But it will be so nice to have it all over with.

Amanda—I’m guessing your kids are all asleep before 11 pm, though. We’ve been waiting until after dark to tuck them in, and have let them “fall asleep” to a movie. It’s nice, though, on the nights I’ve stayed up until 1 am with my Buffy/Angel DVDs.

Lora—My husband can’t sleep in, which I find annoying at times.

My kids slept in today…until 7:30! That’s sleeping in in our house. But they do go to bed before 8. I guess I should count myself lucky in that respect.

Not so much for the kids but 9’s my new 6. They can get themselves breakfast… and lunch.
